Man of The Match: Salomon Rondon

football stadiumJose Salomon Rondon proved again, he is a great striker. The 27-year-old Venezuelan was the Man of the Match for West Bromwich Albion against Swansea City, bagging a hat-trick in the Swans’ net! In fact, all of his goals were scored with his head. Moreover, he only needed 13 minutes (from the 50th minute until the 63rd) to find the net on 3 occasions! With the 3 goals against Swansea City, the forward has now scored 7 goals this season (in 16 matches he has taken part in) – 2 less than his record for the whole last campaign. In addition, the striker has made 2 assists from the beginning of the season, so in total, he has had a crucial role in 9 of West Brom’s 23 goals this campaign!

To continue with, the Venezuelan striker is showing a good understanding with the other forwards in the team. It’s obvious, he is too good for The Baggies and there will surely be a lot of offers for him during the winter transfer window. However, if Tony Pulis manages to keep him, The Baggies will have a big chance for finding a place among the Top 6!

The forward has lifted 3 trophies in his career so far – the Copa Venezuela with Aragua in 2008, The Russian Premier League and The Super Cup with Zenit in 2015. Rondon has also scored 18 goals in 57 matches for the Venezuelan national team! He is the third best goal-scorer for his country, having scored 5 goals less than the leader – Juan Arango. So, we can expect Rondon soon to become the most legendary striker of Venezuela!

In conclusion, Rondon was linked with Barcelona a few months ago. With such a magnificent performance, he can soon find a new, stronger team to develop his career. However, I think he is flexible enough to adjust his playing style to any team – just like he did at West Bromwich Albion!
