Stream Pies: Week Nine

At “Stream Pies,” we are serving up gooey loads of knowledge. Here, we’ll provide invaluable streaming advice on kickers and DEFs who are owned in less than 30-percent of Yahoo! leagues. We list the options in order of best option to “least-best” option (with the strongest recommendations starting at the top). We also include last week’s suggestions and full season results. Points are based on default Yahoo! settings.
Our “Stream Pies” recommendations keep on rolling. Our top pick at DEF for Week Eight scored 22 points in standard Yahoo! leagues, bringing our points-per-recommendations up to 9.14 points (or, 11th best in fantasy). The kickers keep doing work as well, keeping their average above nine for the season. We keep telling you that no matter who your DEF/kicker combination is (save, of course, for the Chicago Bears), you are ultimately better off rolling with our under-owned weekly picks.
It’s not too late to jump on the “Stream Pies” Plane. Why a plane and not a bandwagon? Well, we ain’t rolling around in a shitty-ass wagon like some frontiersmen in Oregon Trail. ‘Round here, we rolling in style.

Team Defense (DEF) Recommendations
Week Nine Recommendations
1 - Washington Redskins vs. CAR
Admittedly, the pickings are slim this week. The Redskins have burned me a couple of times this season, but I’m going back to the well. The Panthers are being led by a “woe is me” quarterback who does more sulking than a fat kid at gym class. The Redskins, although weak in the secondary, have playmakers on the defensive end that can generate turnovers. Plus, with Brandon LaFell likely to sit due to a concussion, the Panthers have few weapons for Washington to defend against.
Week Eight Results (Points calculated with Yahoo! default settings)
Miami Dolphins: nine points allowed, four sacks, INT, fumble recovery, two blocked kicks, TD = 22 points
San Diego Chargers: seven points allowed, two sacks, = six points
Average for top ranked DEF in Y! scoring: 17.86 points-per-game (CHI)

Kicker Recommendations
Week Nine Recommendations
1 - Kai Forbath vs. CAR
Forbath has been money since taking over place-kicking duties, and the Panthers have allowed the most field goal attempts in the NFL.
2 - Connor Barth at OAK
The Raiders are giving up a ton of points and the Bucs should have little trouble moving the ball against them. There should be enough FG attempts here to make Barth a sly play.
3 - Nick Novak vs. KC
Despite the offensive struggles of the Chargers, the Chiefs will have a hard time preventing them from moving the chains. San Diego’s inability to close should present ample opportunities for Novak to make an impact.

@JRich0721 I like the DET defense this week, but they aren't eligible for Stream Pies nomination because they are owned in 54% of the week (when I recommended them a couple weeks ago, they were owned in under 30). Still if they are available, start 'em
