At “Stream Pies,” we are serving up gooey loads of knowledge. Here, we’ll provide invaluable streaming advice on kickers and DEFs who are owned in less than 30-percent of Yahoo! leagues. We list the options in order of best option to “least-best” option (with the strongest recommendations starting at the top). We also include last week’s suggestions and full season results. Points are based on default Yahoo! settings.

Many thought I was crazy for going with the atrocious Saints defense last week, but they netted nine points, which was superior to defensive units like the 49ers, Eagles, and Texans. In other words, your boy did work. The Saints almost had a fumble recovery for a TD as well, so their performance was actually a bit of a disappointment for yours truly.

Our kickers, though they had a relatively “soft” week by our standards, are still averaging double-digits per recommendation.

This is just the beginning. As the season wears on and the matchups become more important, the value of the information you will find here on “Stream Pies” cannot is immeasurable. Sure you can stick with one defense and kicker all year and mail that shit in, but wouldn’t you rather maximize these spots week-in and week-out? Your choice.

Team Defense (DEF) Recommendations
Week Four Recommendations
1 - Washington Redskins at TB
Josh Freeman is coming off one of his worst games ever and the Redskins have the perfect matchup on their hands. Washington’s biggest flaw on defense has been the play of their defensive backs. Fortunately, Freeman isn’t much of a deep passer so Washington should have an easier time defending the pass Sunday. Washington’s defense is a lot better than what they have shown the last couple of weeks, and they should get on track against the Bucs.

2 - San Diego Chargers at KC
The Chargers were ripped apart by Matt Ryan and the Falcons last week, but that was a terrible matchup for them. San Diego’s defense is built to beat up on run-heavy teams lacking a dynamic pass offense. Kansas City is a run-heavy team lacking a dynamic pass offense. Score.

Week Three Results (Points calculated with Yahoo! default settings)
New Orleans: 25 points allowed, three sacks, INT, two fumble recoveries = nine points

Average for top ranked DEF in Y! scoring: 15.67 points-per-game (CHI)
Average for “Stream Pies:” 5.8 points-per-recommendation

Kicker Recommendations
Week Four Recommendations
1 - Lawrence Tynes at PHI
The Giants have a great recent history of success against Philadelphia, so they should have little trouble moving the ball down the field. That said, they’ve had issues converting drives into TDs, and have been settling for a lot of field goals. I’m not expecting them to score TDs at will this week on the road, so Tynes should get more opportunities to rack up points.

2 - Jay Feely vs. MIA
While the Cardinals offense has been better than expected, they still aren’t very good. The Dolphins have played solid enough defense to not get lit up with TDs left and right, but they are still giving up plenty of plays between the 20s. This just reeks of a FG happy day for Feely.

3 - Greg Zuerlein vs. SEA
Zuerlein continues to show one of the strongest legs in the NFL. The Seahawks present a tough defensive matchup for the Rams, but St. Louis should get close enough for Zuerlein to boot home at least a couple of long bombs.

Week Three Results (Points calculated with Yahoo! default settings)
Justin Tucker: seven points
Greg Zuerlein: nine points

Average for top ranked K in Y! scoring: 15 points-per-game (Jason Hanson)
Average for “Stream Pies:” 10.29 points-per-recommendation

I have Eagles and need another defense. You like SD more than Cincy at Jacksonville for this week? I like that Cincy has a nice schedule for weeks 4-6. Eagles is really bad those weeks and then a Bye week 7. Help?

@CollegeWolf  I considered adding CIN because of their matchup with JAC, but they've been terrible against the run (5.5 YPC against) and I can just see MJD eating them up.

CIN isn't a bad defense, but the DEFs we choose here aren't based on their ability to defend NFL teams (see: New Orlean Saints recommendation). We're looking at turnover opportunities and matchups. After the game MJD had last week, I can see him scoring two TDs and maybe even setting up Gabbert for an easy score. CIN probably won't get lit up, but they're vulnerable in this one solely because of their inability to stop the run.

So yeah, SD this week and maybe CIN this week (haven't had a chance to look at it yet). But I think the Chargers can generate turnovers.
