Stream Pies: Week Five

Makes more mistakes than your parents

At “Stream Pies,” we are serving up gooey loads of knowledge. Here, we’ll provide invaluable streaming advice on kickers and DEFs who are owned in less than 30-percent of Yahoo! leagues. We list the options in order of best option to “least-best” option (with the strongest recommendations starting at the top). We also include last week’s suggestions and full season results. Points are based on default Yahoo! settings.

Our kickers are averaging a mean 10.25 points per recommendations, which is a higher average than what Mason Crosby, Robbie Gould, and Sebastian Janikowski (who are all owned in the majority of the leagues) are bringing to the table. While our defensive suggestions haven’t been killing it all year, the Chargers scored a mean 21 points last week to boost our points-per-recommendation 7.6, which is a better clip than the Giants, Eagles, and Steelers.

This is just the tip of the penis. We are just getting started on “Stream Pies” and by season’s end, you’ll be cycling through DEFs and kickers faster than Lance Armstrong on PEDs.

Week Five Recommendations
1 - Cleveland Browns at NYG
Two reasons I’m taking the Browns here: 1) there were slim pickings for “Stream Pies” this week and 2) the Browns really aren’t that bad defensively. Cleveland is averaging two turnovers a game and is getting ample pressure on QBs. They may look like a weak recommendation on paper going against a stacked Giants offense, but keep in mind that Eli Manning is still capable of tossing bone-head picks and New York hasn’t been very good at home.

Washington: 22 points allowed, sack, INT = three points
San Diego: 20 points allowed, two sacks, three INTs, three fumble recoveries, TD = 21 points

Kicker Recommendations
Week Five Recommendations
1 - Nick Novak at NO
The Panthers give up points at will and Novak should be plenty involved.

2 - Steve Hauschka at CAR
Carolina has surrendered the most field goals to opposing teams this year and Hauschka is an accurate kicker who should have a “field” day in this one.

3 - Shayne Graham at NYJ
Let’s face it, the Jets are a hot mess right now and the Texans will have no trouble moving the ball down the field.
