Also, another question for ya about my upcoming big money league keeper auction draft...

One of my 3 keepers is Arian Foster, and I also have McFadden.  Anyways, what to do about Ben Tate?  We have $200 total, and a 15 player roster. My 3 keepers cost me a total of $55, so I have $145 left for the draft.

I want to get Brees or Brady for sure. And Ray Rice, Forte, and AP are all available as well... although I am not desperate for another RB.

So anyways, Ben Tate.  Last year, I tried to sneak him until the end, but then he got bid up to like $20 and I couldn't afford him.  So this year, do I nominate him right away and just pay what it takes to get him? If there are stud RB's still available, do I have a better chance of getting Tate cheap if I nominate him early?  Or do I just try to save him until the end of the draft again, and hope for the best?

All thoughts are greatly appreciated!

@CollegeWolf If you own Foster, everyone knows and you WILL get bid up on Tate. It's what happens in every auction. I'd nominate him late as people are less likely to spend as auction moves along. It's a risk, but one you have to take as an auction owner.

Don't go crazy going after Brees/Brady. Stafford, Eli, Rivers, Romo... lots of great QBs going for waaaay cheaper than top 3 options.

@Starbonell Yeah, I guess wait on Tate again. Hope it works this year. Thanks man.

@Starbonell Stafford is kept. I do like Eli though. I can't say I'd really want to go with Rivers or Romo.  However, we have 5 QB's kept. + Brady, Brees and the above 3 = 10.  So I would imagine all the above go for a decent amount.  I almost think I'm better off paying slightly more for Brees or Brady, rather than "risk" it for the others.  Damnit... I'm so flustered right now. I thought I had a plan but honestly now I have no idea what the hell to do.

@CollegeWolf It's nice to have the luxury of a Brady/Brees, but I honestly think that after Brady, Brees/Rivers/Romo/Eli will all have comparable numbers.

@CollegeWolf I wouldn't wait until the end when there are teams with leftover $$.  Nominate as early as possible and play the strategy that no one is going to pay big bucks for Tate when there are better RB's on the board

Good call, thanks!  I'll make sure to nominate him right away then.

Same for Brees... do I nominate him really early since I want him? Just hope people are saving for later, and won't spend huge right off the bat?  That seems to be the case from years past in our league.

Or should I nominate other QB's first and hope people spend their money and/or get a QB and won't need one later.  5 of our 10 teams already are keeping a QB going into the draft.

How are RB's and Brady above Rodgers?

How is AJ Green above Julio Jones?

I still think Trent Richardson and Chris Johnson are too high.

Jordy Nelson is way too high.

How is Brees sooo low? He has a money schedule, especially during the fantasy playoffs. All crappy defenses and/or in domes. Brady's fantasy playoff schedule is pretty brutal, against really good teams. Could be bad weather for those outdoor games too.

Those are the only small nitpicks I'd have. Otherwise, great work! I'll be referring to this for sure!

@CollegeWolf I think Brady is the QB most likely to break records this year, and thus I have to put him ahead of Rodgers (see Tiers, Not Fears: QBs for confirmation). I like Rodgers a lot, but would rather take the plunge with the two RBs (who can be top 3 overall picks for next year) ahead of him.

Green is above Jones because Julio isn't going to take ALL the targets away from Roddy. Green will have more targets and IMO is the better physical talent overall than Julio (who is great, but Green is in the debate of being as gifted as Megatron at the WR position).

I hear you on T-Rich and CJ2K, but Jordy I'll argue to the death. Again, this is MY cheat sheet, so this is what I will use when drafting my teams. it's a no-BS cheat sheet, no safe picks on here. Just exactly where I think everyone should be.

Brees I think is great, but soooo many good QBs (also explains A-Rodg's slot) available at a much better rate. Brees only did what he did because Saints were running up the score (have to believe those days are over as Drew already has the record and Sean Payton and "cocky" attitude of Saints are removed now). Schedule means nothing to me in some cases. I don't see anyone stopping Brady and his weapons this year... whereas I think the loss of Meachem and increased attention Graham will see will bring him back to "normal" elite level.

@Starbonell Don't the Saints have "something to prove" though this year? With all the suspensions and the "unfair targeting of them and their coach."?

I dunno, I can just see Brees going OFF.  He's the best QB in the NFL imo.  (At least, in terms of accuracy and how he plays the game, not total stats.)

But for the rest of that.... great comment. Thanks for explaining yourself, appreciate it.

@Starbonell Definitely noted. Thanks as always Star!

@CollegeWolf The saints may have something to prove, but they were utter dicks with the way they ran the score up on everyone to get Brees his numbers. With all the shit they faced with "bounty gate," I don't see them going the "let's keep running up the score" strategy.

I agree Drews is great, but if you look at his numbers pre-last year, he's a pretty consistent 33-36 TD an 4,300 yard guy. Great numbers, but not worth the price of a Brady/Rodgers type.
