The Top 100 baseball rankings are overdue for an update. They haven't received a fresh coat of paint since the season started. My god, someone named Hanley Ramirez is atop those rankings. How awful. I'm hoping to post a fresh set of ranks by Monday morning. I don't need your help, but I am interested in your opinion nonetheless. Who is your number one? If we (snake) drafted today, who would be atop your rankings?
Tulo has had some injuries, but nothing nagging, mostly of the freak variety (lacerated hand, HBP injury, and stupid stuff like that). He plays balls out and guys who play the game that way are more at risk for random injuries, but it's not like he has a history of one particular type of injury. Hanley, on the other hand, has had more nagging injuries the last couple of years that have hurt his numbers while he's stayed on the field, while Tulo gets hurts, then comes off the DL and dominates.
If Tulo makes it through the year without missing significant time due to injury then he's in the running for top overall pick, taking Hanley's place as the savvy alternative to Pujols next year. As it currently stands he too much of an injury risk for the #1 spot for me. You pay for Pujols for the consistent greatness, he plays 150+ games every damn year and his floor is a career year for half the guys you'd draft in the 1st or 2nd round, I mean he's still ranked 28th on the Yahoo! player rater and he's had a slow start by his standards. My personal top 10 would go Pujols, Tulo, Braun, Miggy, Bautista, Kemp, AGon, Votto, Cano, Longoria. Yep, I'm all aboard the Bautista bandwagon!
