At “Stream Pies,” we are serving up gooey loads of knowledge. Here, we’ll provide invaluable streaming advice on SPs who are owned in less than 30 percent of Yahoo! leagues. We list the options in order of best option to “least-best” option (with the strongest recommendations starting at the top).

The momentum has finally begun to shift. After clocking a 6.24 ERA in the last edition of “Stream Pies,” a weekend of great recommendations has helped us drop that bitch to 4.73. Granted, that’s not where we want to be, but it sure as hell is a step in the right direction. And hey, the 7.83 K/9 mark and a win once every three turns with under-30 percent owned players isn’t too shabby either. You know what is “too shabby” though? Suckas who don’t heed the advice of your boy Kid Clutch.

Fantasy Baseball: Extreme Splits and Fat Tits

Well lucky for you pervs, splits rhymes with tits. Feel free to take a personal break and come back.

Wipe that shame off and get ready to do some work. Fantasy teams are generally built with a handful of bench spots, and there’s value to be had from extra batters outside of simply popping them in when one of your studs is getting rest. So below I’ll hit you with a nice list of batters who hit for some extreme tits, I mean splits. Taking advantage of these glaring splits can be the difference, so grind it out my friends. Just as an FYI, I would say this list is more important for roto leagues, although those in H2H leagues should definitely take note.

It’s been a brutal start to the “Stream Pies” season. Jarrod Parker, Brian Matusz, Kyle Drabek... you name them, they sucked here at “Stream Pies” (save a couple of stellar performances). It won’t be easy to bring our overall numbers to glory, but your boy Stat Smear is up for the challenge.

Don't Give Up On Tim Lincecum Just Yet

Written by Marco Dominguez on .

For those of us this year that drafted Tim Lincecum in the early rounds of our fantasy draft or used a nice chunk of our auction budget to pick him up, we are all probably asking ourselves the same question, “Will the real Tim Lincecum please stand up?”

Through 12 starts so far this season, Lincecum’s ERA (5.83) is almost double what his career mark (2.98) was coming into this season. His number of walks issued are 45% higher this season (4.75 BB/9) versus his career number (3.32). One of Lincecum’s biggest problems in 2012 has been avoiding the big inning. In eight of his first 12 starts, he has given up at least three ERs in one inning.  In five of those eight starts, he has given up four ERs in one inning. These high-scoring innings have accounted for 29 of the 43 ERs he’s allowed this year. If we drill down a little further, we can see why this is happening.

We are adding a new wrinkle here at “Stream Pies.” Not only will we provide streaming recommendations, but we shall also tell you what categories those players will help contribute towards. A lot of fantasy owners streaming may be looking for help with wins, strikeouts, or ERA/WHIP, so to make life easier for you, we’ll just flat out tell you what each recommendation will address. You’re welcome.

Think it’s too early to stream? ‘Fraid not sucka. Take a look at your innings pace. Unless you employ a fleet of SPs, there is a decent chance you may be falling behind. While streaming is synonymous with September, everyone is trying to stream SPs late in the season. Better to pick up some innings now, when there are a lot more options to pick from. Fantasy baseball is a marathon, but innings in June count every bit as much as innings in the fall.

OK, you can breathe out now. “Stream Pies” has returned to help you maximize your innings. Last year, we recommended 205 stream starters. They turned in 1,214.2 innings, 71 wins, a 4.18 ERA, 1.27 WHIP, and a 6.14 K/9. Not bad for pitchers owned in less than 30 percent of Yahoo! leagues, eh? And by “not bad” I mean “fucking incredible.”

Yet we’re not comfortable with a mere repeat of last year’s success. No, this year we are aiming big. We are looking to post a season ERA under 4.00, while getting our K/9 to the 6.5 territory. Sounds impossible considering we are assembling this pitching staff from dudes who are just sitting on waivers, but we like a good challenge here at Sons of Roto.

So without further ado, sit back, open wide, and taste the gooey goodness that is... “Stream Pies.”
